To get to Gunnison from Denver, it is best to follow U.S. Highway 285 to Salida and then take U.S. Highway 50 over Monarch Pass and on to Gunnison. Crested Butte and Gunnison are both in Gunnison County and Gunnison is the county seat where the county government offices and courts are located.
